When both dogs arrived at the shelter from the same unfortunate housing situation, they didn’t appear particularly close. However, everything changed when staff members noticed one of the dogs struggling to adapt to the chaotic shelter environment and took action.
“It was a tough start for Karma,” recalled Mike DeFina, ARL’s media relations manager. “The shelter staff decided to place them in the same kennel, and almost immediately, Gigi was able to calm Karma down. Their bond formed quickly from there.”
