Traveler’s Terrifying Ordeal Woman’s Warning After 13-Hour Flight Turns Life-Threatening!

Emily Jansson, a woman from Canada, is warning travelers after a terrifying experience in which she almost died from a massive blood clot in her lungs during a long flight. On February 5, Emily, known as @alwayssingingmom on TikTok, was on a direct flight from Toronto to Dubai when the incident occurred. About two hours before the end of the 13-hour flight, the 33-year-old got up to use the bathroom for the first time and suddenly felt a deep, dull ache in her chest. She collapsed, hit her head, and was unconscious for five minutes, resulting in a black eye and bruised arm.

Thanks to the quick response of a doctor and competent flight attendants, Emily received immediate medical attention on the plane. She was diagnosed with a massive bilateral saddle pulmonary embolism, a rare and life-threatening condition where a large blood clot blocks the main pulmonary artery. After landing, Emily was taken to the airport clinic and then transferred to Rashid Hospital in Dubai for further tests and treatment. Doctors told her it was a miracle she survived considering the delay in getting to the hospital.

Several factors contributed to Emily’s health scare, including lack of movement during the flight, wearing compression stockings that restricted blood flow, and taking estrogen birth control, which can increase the risk of blood clots. After spending six days in the hospital, Emily shared her story to raise awareness about the dangers of blood clots and to remind everyone to cherish life and take care of themselves.

Emily provided an update on her health on March 3 after returning home to Toronto. “I am still in the process of recovering from this incident, and my body has been through a lot,” she revealed. “Fortunately, I no longer require oxygen or any other assistance, but I am currently taking blood-thinning medication for a minimum of six months.”
Emily mentioned that she has upcoming appointments with a hematologist and a cardiologist to monitor her progress and ensure that the blood clots have fully dissipated. “I am currently focused on resting and recuperating,” she concluded.
