Gunmen opened fire at a wedding celebration in southeastern France in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in the tragic death of the bride and injuries to three others, as per a source with knowledge of the situation. The incident took place in the village of Goult at approximately 4:30 am. Initial reports suggest that as the bride and groom were departing the party, they were accosted by masked suspects who began shooting. Regrettably, the bride lost her life, and one of the assailants was fatally struck by the couple’s car as they attempted to flee, the source disclosed. A sizable operation involving roughly 100 law enforcement officers is underway to apprehend those responsible for the attack. The wounded individuals include the groom, his sister, and a 13-year-old child, as reported by Le Figaro. Although officials have not confirmed the child’s relationship to the couple, a source familiar with the case informed the Sun that the 13-year-old is the couple’s son. The Avignon prosecutor’s office has initiated an inquiry into “murder and attempted murder by an organized group,” according to Le Figaro. Investigators are examining whether the shooting could be linked to a potential vendetta. Mayor Didier Perello expressed his belief that the incident was targeted. Goult, a town with a population of just over 1,000 residents, is situated in southeastern France, approximately 55 miles north of Marseille, a city recently affected by drug-related violence.
