Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur Injury Update Sparks Concern!

LONDON (AP) — Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has reassured fans that he is “all good” after being stretchered off during the English League Cup semifinal against Liverpool. The incident occurred at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Bentancur fell to the ground while a corner was being taken on Wednesday night. Medical staff attended to the player as he lay on the turf.

Following Spurs’ 1-0 victory in the first leg of the semifinal, manager Ange Postecoglou provided an update on Bentancur’s condition, confirming that the Uruguay international was conscious and had been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. The nature of Bentancur’s medical situation that warranted his hospitalization has not been disclosed.

The 27-year-old midfielder later took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with a thumbs-up gesture, along with a message expressing his gratitude for the well-wishes received: “All good, guys! Thank you for the messages!!!”

The incident unfolded in the early minutes of the match when Bentancur attempted to head a ball, leading to him remaining on the ground in a prone position. His inability to rise prompted concern among both teammates and opponents. He was subsequently carried off on a stretcher in the 14th minute. Postecoglou affirmed after the match that Bentancur was alert and conscious as he was escorted to the dressing rooms.
