Top GOP Senators Demand Reform & Consequences After Law Enforcement Leadership Failure!

Meanwhile, Senator Bill Cassidy responded to reports that the New Orleans police had access to 48 barriers that could have potentially prevented the tragic truck attack that occurred last week. The permanent barriers on Bourbon Street were undergoing replacement at the time of the attack, leaving the city authorities with the option to deploy archer barriers capable of stopping a 5,500-pound vehicle traveling at 60 miles per hour.

“There has to be leadership at the top. And if the leadership failed, as you describe it, then absolutely there has to be consequences. Period. End of story,” Cassidy emphasized. “Now, I think we’re going to have a kind of complete review of everything from top to bottom. And if that’s the way it ends up shaking out completely, she should be replaced,” he added, referring to New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.

Senator Bill Cassidy, representing Louisiana, is calling for a comprehensive review of law enforcement decisions in relation to the New Orleans truck attack.

These statements from Senator Cassidy, along with those of Senator John Thune, come following criticism of the FBI by allies of former President Trump for initially characterizing the truck attack as unrelated to terrorism. Subsequently, the FBI revised its stance and launched a terrorism investigation reportedly linked to ISIS.

“The FBI has a no-fail mission. There is no room for error. When they fail, Americans die. It’s a necessity that Kash Patel gets confirmed ASAP,” a source close to Trump informed Fox News Digital on Thursday morning.

Kash Patel is among the incoming Cabinet nominees who will require Senate confirmation after Trump’s inauguration later this month.

In light of the recent events, officials have decided to postpone the Sugar Bowl following the terror attack on Bourbon Street.

The call for reform and accountability in law enforcement’s response to the attack continues to gain momentum among top GOP senators.
