In the Cognizant Classic at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Jake Knapp maintained his lead with a 1-under-par 70 on Friday after a spectacular opening round of 59. Knapp, now at 13-under 129, holds a narrow advantage over Matthieu Pavon from France, who sits one stroke behind at 12-under 130.

Knapp, who became the 15th player in PGA Tour history to shoot below 60 on Thursday, reflected on his unusual experience following up such a remarkable round. Despite some challenges during the second round, including a double bogey, Knapp managed to finish strong with a birdie on the final hole.

Knapp and Pavon will be in the final group on Saturday, with Pavon also showcasing impressive play with an eagle-birdie-birdie start on the back nine. Other notable performances include Doug Ghim’s stellar 8-under 63 and Luke Clanton, the top-ranked amateur, securing his PGA Tour card with consistent play.
