Thief Dials 911 on Himself After Failed Robbery Attempt

A failed robber contacted emergency services for help after injuring himself while trying to break into a car dealership in Texas. Tyler Police in Texas reported that Jeremiah Megallon, 38, made the call on Wednesday night after cutting himself on glass during his attempted break-in at a Dodge dealership, as per KKTV. Megallon had thrown a rock through a dealership window, causing the injury. Despite having multiple exits available, he mistakenly believed he was trapped inside and sought assistance from law enforcement. Megallon was treated at a local hospital for his injuries before being arrested for burglary of the building and taken to Smith County Jail. The only item he managed to steal was some candy from a salesperson’s desk, and the only damage to the dealership was the broken window, slated for replacement. Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh remarked on the bizarre incident, noting the irony that Megallon could have easily exited through several unlocked doors but chose to call the police instead.
