Seni Tienabeso has been elevated to the role of vice president at ABC News Live, the live-streaming arm of Disney’s news division. In addition to overseeing ABC News Live, Tienabeso will also be responsible for managing ABC News’ medical and climate departments, with direct reporting lines to ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic. With this new position, Tienabeso will take charge of all facets of ABC News Live, including resource allocation, talent management, content creation, and programming. Moreover, he will work closely with ABC’s television stations to ensure seamless operations.
In a statement, Karamehmedovic praised Tienabeso as a highly skilled and dedicated journalist with an innate ability for compelling storytelling and impactful reporting. Tienabeso’s career at ABC News has been marked by notable achievements, including his role as the inaugural executive director of ABC News Live, where he played a key role in managing the channel, which amassed over 600 million hours of streaming in 2024. Prior to that, he served as the executive producer of ABC News Live’s primetime programming and contributed to the development and management of the acclaimed “ABC News Live Prime,” anchored by Linsey Davis. Noteworthy among his recent accomplishments is the successful integration of weekend anchors from “Good Morning America” into ABC News Live’s live news programs.
Tienabeso’s journey at ABC News began in 2007, and he has held various roles within the organization, including stints as a producer at ABC’s News One affiliate service, a producer for ABC News in Miami, and a senior producer at “World News Tonight.” Throughout his tenure, Tienabeso has been involved in covering significant news events ranging from presidential elections to natural disasters, the Israeli-Hamas conflict, the Boston Marathon bombing, the Haiti earthquake, and the Chilean miner rescue operation.
