Magliari disclosed that Amtrak introduced pet-friendly policies along its Midwestern routes in 2014, following a request from the Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Ann Schneider, who sought permission to travel with her dogs between Chicago and Springfield. “As the trial proved successful, we continued to expand this initiative,” Magliari stated.
