Texas Man’s Shocking Stalking of WNBA Star Caitlin Clark!

A 55-year-old man from Texas, Michael Lewis, has been charged with stalking WNBA star Caitlin Clark, as reported by Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears. Lewis was arrested and charged in Indianapolis following an investigation into allegations of sending numerous threats and sexually explicit messages to the Indiana Fever player on social media.

According to court documents, law enforcement discovered that Lewis had been sending disturbing messages to Caitlin Clark on a social media platform known as X. One message reportedly stated, “@CaitlinClark22 been driving around your house 3x a day..but don’t call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.” Another message indicated, “I’m getting tickets. I’m sitting behind the bench.”

Authorities revealed that Lewis had traveled to Indianapolis and was staying at a local hotel. During a visit by law enforcement to his location, Lewis admitted to what he described as “an imaginary relationship” with the WNBA star. Despite this encounter and warning from authorities, the alarming messages persisted.

Prosecutor Ryan Mears emphasized the bravery shown by women who come forward in such cases, highlighting the importance of setting an example for all women to feel safe from the threat of sexual violence while living and working in Indianapolis.

If convicted, Michael Lewis faces a possible sentence of one to six years in prison, along with a fine of up to $10,000. This incident involving Caitlin Clark echoes a similar case where an Oregon man faced charges of breach of peace, electronic stalking, and harassment in relation to UConn basketball star Paige Bueckers. The individual in that case made concerning statements on social media indicating an intent to marry Bueckers, claiming to possess an engagement ring and lingerie when he was apprehended near a Connecticut airport, according to police reports.
