The incident occurred on June 10 during a 19-hour hike up the mountain, where Zane began showing signs of altitude sickness and hallucinations. A group of hikers eventually helped call for assistance, leading to Zane’s rescue and transfer to Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas. Zane sustained head trauma, a broken ankle, a broken finger, and a partially broken pelvis from the fall, and is currently in a medically induced coma.
