Target Cheesecake Recall Shocks 5 States for Allergen Omission!

A bakery item sold at Target has been recalled due to mislabeled packaging. Dessert Holdings LLC has recalled Target’s Favorite Day Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake because it contains pecans, but the packaging fails to disclose this allergen. The company stated that individuals with a pecan allergy or sensitivity may face severe or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product. The recall was initiated after a customer complaint on March 14, although no illnesses have been reported so far. The issue has been rectified, and no other products have been affected since the discovery.

The mislabeled products were sold at Target stores in California, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas between Feb. 14 and March 7. Consumers can identify the affected packaging by checking for lot code 25028A1 000039133 and UPC 0 85239 09690 1 on the clear container. Customers who purchased the recalled item are advised not to consume it and should contact Target Guest Relations or Dessert Holdings for assistance.

This recall is part of a series of recent recalls, including one issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., the parent company of one of Aldi’s cheeses, due to a “potential foreign material” contamination. Additionally, Nestlé USA recalled four Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals due to the presence of “wood-like material.” The affected products were distributed nationwide between September 2024 and March 2025. Lastly, the FDA recalled nearly 200,000 cans of green beans the week prior due to potential contamination with a foreign object.
