According to Kent Police, Maureen Rickards, without showing any remorse, has been convicted of murdering her husband. The abusive wife fatally stabbed Jeremy Rickards, buried him in their backyard, and then misled their daughter about his death. She concocted a series of lies to hide her crime, such as using her late husband’s bank cards and sending messages impersonating him to their daughter, claiming he was still alive. Rickards was eventually found guilty of murder after police discovered CCTV footage of her using her husband’s bank card and located his body in the garden. The investigation revealed a history of abuse inflicted by Rickards on her husband, including physical violence and manipulation. Despite the evidence against her, Rickards has shown no remorse for her actions and has continuously attempted to shift blame onto others. The prosecutor described her actions as causing unimaginable pain and suffering to the victim, leading to a tragic outcome.
“I feel deep regret for taking Jeremy’s life.” Rickards will face sentencing on April 9. Expand your knowledge with acclaimed British journalism.
