EDMONTON, Alberta – In Game 3 of the second-round playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Edmonton Oilers made a change in goaltenders. Stuart Skinner took over for Calvin Pickard on Saturday night. Pickard, who had become the starter for Edmonton during the first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings, was listed as day to day by Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch. In Game 2, Pickard made 28 saves in Edmonton’s 5-4 overtime victory but seemed to struggle in the third period, visibly uncomfortable and shaking out his left leg. Pickard had replaced Skinner, the regular-season starter, when the Oilers fell behind 2-0 to the Kings. With Pickard in goal, the Oilers won six consecutive games and brought a 2-0 series lead back to Rogers Place from Las Vegas. Skinner has a career playoff record of 19-17 with the Oilers.
