Star player’s mysterious plan to return emerges

It has been revealed that star player Travis Kelce is planning a return to the Kansas City Chiefs for the upcoming season. This news was brought to light by Pat McAfee during a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.” According to McAfee, Kelce expressed his dissatisfaction with his performance during the Super LIX defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles and stated that he did not want to end his career on such a sour note.

In a message shared by McAfee, Kelce conveyed his determination to come back stronger than ever. He mentioned his intention to get into the best shape of his life during the offseason and to strive towards reclaiming the mountaintop. Kelce emphasized that the bitter taste of his last game’s outcome and his own performance motivated him to make a comeback, stating, “I can’t go out like that!!!!”

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach also confirmed at the NFL scouting combine that the team was proceeding with the belief that the four-time All-Pro player would return to the field in 2025. Kelce was reportedly given a deadline of March 14 to make a decision, as he is set to receive a $12.5 million roster bonus on March 15.

Kelce, who will be turning 36 in October, had previously indicated that he would take some time to contemplate his future following the Super Bowl loss. Despite achieving his seventh consecutive season with at least 90 receptions in 2024, Kelce’s performance saw a decline, with his lowest total receiving yards (823) since 2015 and the fewest touchdowns (3) in his career. In the Super Bowl, he managed only four receptions for 39 yards on six targets.
