“Gi-hun will take on a transformed persona in the upcoming season,” revealed director Hwang Dong-hyuk to Entertainment Weekly in September. “In season 2, viewers can expect a departure from the initially depicted foolish, clumsy, and at times childish Gi-hun. Instead, a darker and weightier side of the character will be unveiled.”

Joining the ensemble are new cast members such as South Korean boy band singer Yim Si-wan, “When the Camellia Blooms” star Kang Ha-neul, and “A Good Day to Be a Dog” star Park Gyu-young.
