South Braces for Weekend Severe Weather Outbreak Threatening Overwhelm!

Severe weather is expected to impact more than 25 states over the weekend, with the potential for large hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes. A powerful low-pressure system moving across the central Plains will bring a cold front along with it, drawing moisture from the Gulf into the lower and mid-Mississippi Valley and possibly as far north as Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. This setup, combined with wind shear, creates favorable conditions for severe weather threats including supercell thunderstorms, squall lines, and the possibility of strong tornadoes. Cities like St. Louis, Memphis, and Little Rock are at a higher risk, with millions of people across multiple states under a level 3 out of 5 threat. The storm system will continue to move eastward, placing a large population at risk of severe thunderstorms on Saturday. By Sunday, the East Coast, including the Interstate 95 corridor, faces a threat of damaging winds, with a lesser risk of hail and tornadoes. Millions of people from Florida to New Jersey are under a level 2 out of 5 threat for severe weather.

Severe storms are headed towards the South before a weekend severe weather outbreak, putting over 25 states at risk. Baltimore and Philadelphia are among the areas impacted.
