Susan Lucci recently marked 55 years of All My Children — but could she be making a comeback to Pine Valley as Erica Kane? Good Housekeeping had a chat with the actress, who opened up about her heart health journey in honor of American Heart Month. Following her discussion about All My Children at 55 with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y on January 14, we were eager to learn more about a potential All My Children revival.
Since its cancellation in 2011, there have been several attempts to revive the show for primetime television. Susan’s former All My Children colleagues, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, were set to be executive producers of a spinoff series called Pine Valley back in 2020, but the plans were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, Susan remained silent on the possibility of her return.
Most recently, in September 2024, People confirmed that Lifetime is working on a Christmas movie set in Pine Valley. However, no specific production dates were announced by the network at that time.
When asked if she would be interested in participating in the Lifetime movie or any other form of the original show, even if it was just for a brief appearance, the 78-year-old did not hesitate to respond. It turns out, she is more than willing to jump back into the role.
“Absolutely, I would,” she affirmed. “And I would hope for more than just a cameo, as that part was truly wonderful, and I miss portraying her.”
Reflecting on the show’s remarkable 41-year tenure, Susan recounted her experience reuniting with Kelly, Mark, and other members of the cast and crew at the 92NY event in January.
“We were a tight-knit group, spending countless hours together, and that bond is still evident. Judy Blye Wilson, our casting director, was there along with our head writer, Lorraine Broderick. The audience got a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes dynamics,” she shared.
Despite being a part of the show from start to finish, Susan revealed that she discovered something new about the series that day. They showed a video of the original introduction, which was the opening sequence from the premiere in 1970 until it was updated in 1990, featuring a hand opening a book to reveal the title.
“I never knew that hand belonged to Agnes Nixon, the creator of All My Children!” she exclaimed.

Agnes passed away in 2016 at the age of 93. Discussing a potential reboot, Susan emphasized the importance of having the right team in place. “It’s crucial to have competent hands guiding the show. With Agnes no longer here to write, it’s
