Shocking Twist Rapist Jailed for Child Sex Offences 50 Years Ago!

Many years have passed, and a disturbing crime has come to light. A man has been sentenced to prison for committing rape and multiple indecent assaults against children that occurred as far back as 50 years ago. Alan Johnson, aged 71, has confessed to carrying out these heinous acts between 1975 and 1981 on two teenage girls in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Johnson, a resident of Holmeswood in Ormskirk, Lancashire, has pleaded guilty to one charge of rape and 11 counts of indecent assault. As a result, he has been sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Norwich Crown Court.

The Suffolk Police released a moving statement from one of the survivors, detailing how the crimes had robbed her of every simple joy and ordinary experience that others may take for granted. The statement also highlighted how the perpetrator had deprived her of the milestones and rites of passage that others get to enjoy. In addition to his prison term, Johnson has been issued a restraining order against both victims and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will be in effect for 10 years following his release.

Detective Constable Hannah Baggott, representing the Suffolk Police, praised the bravery of the two victims for coming forward and providing unwavering support throughout the investigation. She emphasized that without their courage and cooperation, securing these convictions would have been unlikely. She expressed her hope that the sentence handed down would offer some measure of closure to the victims and enable them to move forward in their lives.
