Mickey Rourke was expelled from the “Celebrity Big Brother UK” house in West Hollywood, California in 2022 due to his use of inappropriate language and behavior. The 72-year-old actor’s departure occurred a week into the 24th season following comments he made towards fellow housemate and singer JoJo Siwa, which she deemed as homophobic.
During an episode of the ITV show, Rourke questioned Siwa about her sexuality, to which she responded that she likes girls and has a partner. Rourke then made a comment implying he could change her sexuality, leading to a tense exchange between the two. Subsequently, Rourke faced criticism for his remarks and behavior from other housemates, including Chris Hughes, who defended Siwa.
As a result of his continued inappropriate language and behavior, particularly during a disagreement with Hughes, Rourke was asked to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house. The network ITV confirmed Rourke’s departure on Saturday and cited his use of threatening and aggressive language towards Hughes as the reason for his expulsion.
The incident involving Rourke and Siwa highlights the importance of respectful communication and behavior, both inside and outside of reality television settings.
