A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing outside a supermarket in Nottinghamshire. The incident occurred outside the Co-op store on Westdale Lane East, Gedling, where a man in his 30s was taken to the hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds at around 22:30 BST on Tuesday. Simon McHugh, 45, was arrested the next day and has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place, burglary, and theft of a motor vehicle. Nottinghamshire Police also stated that he faces charges of false imprisonment, assault, possession of a knife, and making threats to kill in relation to incidents in Derbyshire on May 5th. The victim of the stabbing sustained serious injuries and remains in the hospital. McHugh, of Harrogate Road, Carlton, is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
