Police from Nottinghamshire stated that individuals like Philip Cliffe contribute to a demand for abusive images. Cliffe, a convicted paedophile, was sentenced to four years in prison after authorities discovered a collection of disturbing images depicting severe sexual abuse against children in his possession. The 41-year-old’s internet connection led detectives to his Nottingham home where they seized electronic devices containing thousands of abusive images, including those of babies. Cliffe, residing in Carlton, Nottingham, plead guilty to multiple charges related to indecent images of children and extreme pornography. In addition to his jail term, Cliffe will be listed on the sex offenders’ register for life and prohibited from interacting with children without parental permission. Detective Constable Richard Cashmore condemned Cliffe’s actions, highlighting the severity of the abuse depicted in the images. Cashmore emphasized that such material should not be referred to as “child pornography” but rather as evidence of horrific abuse inflicted on vulnerable children.
