Serial Molester Unmasked: Accused NY Shrink Allegedly Abused Juvenile Detention Facility Residents

A shrink accused of rape and known as “Big Foot” has been alleged to be a serial molester who victimized at least five individuals at an upstate New York juvenile detention facility. Among her victims was a 15-year-old who she groped and questioned about their preference for “big boobs,” according to two lawsuits.

Maya Hayes, 47, reportedly provided privileges such as phone access, hair products, and food to the teens under her care at the Brookwood Youth Facility near Albany while engaging in regular acts of molestation. Victims claimed she would fondle them and coerce them into squeezing her breasts.

One victim, who was 15 upon arrival at Brookwood in October 2019, disclosed that Hayes had expressed her sexual frustrations at home and allegedly sought sexual encounters with residents. Another victim, who was 16 when he arrived at Brookwood in October 2020, detailed an encounter where Hayes inquired about his preferences for breasts and showed her own chest.

The victims’ lawyer, Evan Brustein, emphasized the severity of the abuse, stating, “The scale of sexual abuse at Brookwood represents a fundamental failure of the system itself. What happened to our clients is horrific, and we are committed to holding both the sexual predator and those who enabled the abuse fully accountable.”

Hayes was arrested by the New York State Police in April on 65 counts of criminal sexual act in the third degree and rape. She has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial.

Hayes, in court documents responding to the federal lawsuit, refuted “all allegations” and requested that the case be put on hold until the conclusion of her criminal case. She did not reply to inquiries for comment.
