Swedish prosecutors have charged the former national security adviser of the government with careless handling of secret information. Henrik Landerholm allegedly left documents at a conference hotel in 2023, which led to the disclosure of sensitive information. Prosecutors stated that Landerholm’s negligence could potentially harm Sweden’s security by revealing classified details to a foreign power. The documents were left behind in an unlocked safe and were later recovered. Appointed by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s government in 2022, Landerholm resigned in January 2025 after a criminal investigation was initiated.
