Sabrina Carpenter is responding to criticism over her bold album cover by releasing an alternate version approved by her on social media. The pop star will be launching her new album “Man’s Best Friend” on Aug. 29. The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 25, to address skeptics of her provocative album cover. In her post, Carpenter mentioned that she had signed some copies of the album for her fans and shared the new alternate cover, jokingly stating it was “approved by God,” accompanied by a white heart emoji.
The album announcement on June 11 received backlash due to the imagery on the cover, which depicted Carpenter dressed in a black outfit and high heels, posing in a dog-like position while being pulled by an unidentified man. The photos stirred controversy, prompting Carpenter to release new images where she faces the camera in two separate shots, standing with a man.
“Man’s Best Friend” is Carpenter’s seventh studio album following her successful 2024 release “Short n’ Sweet,” which propelled her to fame in the music industry. The album gained immense popularity, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and featuring hit singles like “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Bed Chem,” reinforcing Carpenter’s playful pin-up girl persona.
