A tragic incident unfolded on Friday night in the City of Roswell, Georgia, as a police officer lost his life while responding to a call at the Kings Market shopping center located on 1425 Market Blvd. The Roswell Police Department swiftly reacted to a report of a suspicious individual at the shopping center around 7 p.m.
During the search for the reported person, an officer encountered a man behind the shopping center who then brandished a firearm and fired shots at the officer, resulting in the officer sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Despite receiving immediate first aid from fellow officers at the scene, the injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The assailant was pursued by law enforcement officers and eventually apprehended. The identities of both the fallen officer and the gunman have not been disclosed by the authorities.
