Ronald Acuña Jr’s Imminent Return to Braves Sparks Excitement!

The Atlanta Braves have had a rough start this season, sitting below .500 after 41 games. This is a stark contrast to their achievements last season when they won 89 games and secured a wild-card spot. However, there is hope on the horizon as star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is set to begin a rehab assignment and is expected to rejoin the team no later than June 1.

The Braves announced Acuña’s upcoming rehab assignment, starting with the Florida Complex League team before moving on to one of the team’s minor-league affiliates. The length of Acuña’s assignment is yet to be determined, but it is anticipated that he could be activated by June 1 if all goes well. However, any setbacks in his recovery from his ACL tear could delay his return. Depending on his progress, Acuña might even make an earlier comeback.

Acuña, who is nearing the one-year mark since his injury, suffered an ACL tear in his left knee during a game last season. This was the second time in his career he experienced such an injury, with the first occurring in his right knee in 2021. Despite a slight decline in performance in 2022 following his return, Acuña bounced back in 2023 with an impressive MVP-winning season.

The Braves are taking a cautious approach with Acuña this time, ensuring he fully recovers before returning to the team. If he can replicate his outstanding form from his MVP season, the Braves have a strong chance of improving their record and challenging for the National League East title against the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies.
