Robin Fraser Joins Toronto for MLS Coaching Job!

TORONTO (AP) — Robin Fraser, 58, has been appointed as the head coach of Toronto, marking his third Major League Soccer coaching position following stints at Chivas USA and Colorado. Fraser takes over from John Herdman, who stepped down in November after leading the team for approximately 14 months. Toronto’s season concluded with a disappointing 11th place finish in the 15-team Eastern Conference, boasting 11 victories, 19 defeats, and four draws.

Fraser’s contract extends through the 2027 season. As a former U.S. national team defender with 27 caps earned between 1998 and 2001, Fraser previously held coaching roles at Chivas USA from 2011 to 2012, and Colorado from August 2019 through September 2023. Notably, he served as an assistant at Toronto under Greg Vanney from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the club’s triumph in capturing its sole MLS championship in 2017.
