During a recent segment on “TODAY,” 75-year-old Rick Springfield shared new insights about a brain injury he sustained over 25 years ago. The Grammy-award winner explained that during a Las Vegas concert, he fell 25 feet onto a steel stage while performing a stunt that went wrong. Initially, doctors believed he had only broken his wrist, but a recent full-body MRI revealed that he had actually suffered a brain injury from the fall.
Reflecting on his father’s reluctance to address his health issues, Springfield emphasized the importance of being proactive about one’s health. Despite his initial anxieties about the MRI results, he acknowledged that knowing the details about his health was crucial. Springfield, who is set to become a grandfather, mentioned that the brain injury has not significantly impacted him and he is gearing up for an upcoming tour starting this month.
