Retired Justice Breyer Stands Firm Against White House Attacks on Federal Judges!

Retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, who left the bench in 2022, recently spoke out in defense of federal judges who have faced harsh criticism from President Donald Trump and his supporters for rulings that have slowed down the White House’s plans. Breyer emphasized that despite the current political climate, judges must still make decisions on contentious cases based on their interpretation of the law. In an interview on “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer & Pamela Brown,” Breyer stressed the importance of judges remaining steadfast in their commitment to upholding the law, regardless of external pressures. He also expressed support for Chief Justice John Roberts’ recent statement urging parties to appeal court decisions rather than resorting to impeachment threats against judges. While discussing the possibility of a constitutional crisis, Breyer emphasized the importance of judges adhering to the rule of law. Breyer’s retirement led to the appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson by President Joe Biden in 2022, following confirmation by the Senate in April of the same year.
