Remarkable Return Missing Dachshund Reappears After 529 Days in the Wilderness!

Valerie the dachshund, an 8-pound pup, has been reunited with her owners, Josh Fishlock and Georgia Gardner, after an unexpected wilderness adventure lasting over a year. Valerie went missing on Kangaroo Island in Australia, known for its rugged terrain. With the help of Kangala Wildlife Rescue and volunteers, Valerie was found after 529 days of searching and multiple sightings.

Upon being rescued, Valerie underwent a health check at Victor Vet and was deemed to be in perfect health, having gained nearly four pounds during her time away. Gardner shared her joy at Valerie’s safe return, noting the pup’s happiness and improved physical condition. Despite the uncertainties surrounding Valerie’s survival in the wild, her resilience and endurance have captured the hearts of many.
