Rainy Forecast for NYC St Patricks Day Parade! Find Out When Showers Will Hit

Get ready to shake off the rain and embrace the St. Patrick’s Day parade in New York City. Though rain showers are expected to linger, the storm should ease as the celebration progresses. Meteorologist Mathieu Blue from the Fox Forecast Center advises that while rain may be present at the start of the parade, it will become more scattered and is likely to clear up by around 2 p.m. The showers are anticipated to be lighter and less persistent compared to overnight and early Monday morning.

Despite the forecast for rain until about 2 p.m., temperatures should be relatively mild, starting around 57-58 degrees and gradually decreasing by the end of the parade. The storm system will move towards Long Island, keeping the skies cloudy throughout the day.

The iconic St. Patrick’s Day parade will kick off on Fifth Avenue, beginning at 44th Street and concluding at 79th Street. Expect road closures along the parade route, creating a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Even though the rain is expected to taper off in the afternoon, the skies won’t clear up immediately.

Over 150,000 participants are set to march and entertain the crowds with music and performances. While you can watch the parade on TV if you can’t attend in person, the lively spirit of the event is sure to be felt throughout the city.
