A pregnant woman is currently in the hospital recovering from multiple stab wounds inflicted by a pizza delivery driver due to a dispute over a tip amount. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida, as reported by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The victim, who is in stable condition, was identified as Melinda Irizarry. Brianna Alvelo, 22, has been arrested on charges including home invasion, attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault in connection with the attack.
Earlier that evening, Irizarry had ordered pizza from a local restaurant and Alvelo allegedly became upset over the tip she received. Alvelo, accompanied by an unknown male armed with a firearm, later forced their way into Irizarry’s motel room. Alvelo, armed with a knife, proceeded to stab Irizarry multiple times and stole items from the room before fleeing.
Irizarry, who was in the room with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter during the incident, suffered serious injuries including a ruptured lung and wounds to various parts of her body.
