Pope Francis’ Surprising Recovery! Prognosis Lifted After 25 Days in Hospital

Pope Francis’ condition showed a positive turn on Monday, as he reached his 25th day in the hospital, according to the Vatican. The Vatican’s press office stated that the improvements seen in recent days, verified by blood tests and clinical evaluations, along with a positive response to treatment, led the medical team to lift the previous prognosis. This adjustment means that the Pope is no longer in immediate danger, although his medical situation is still considered complex.

Despite the progress made, the 88-year-old pontiff will remain under close observation and continue receiving medical treatment in the hospital setting for a few more days due to the complexity of his condition and the ongoing infection. Vatican sources mentioned that while signs of recovery are appearing, caution is still necessary.

Pope Francis was able to engage in spiritual activities on Monday, attending Lenten exercises for the Roman curia, receiving the Eucharist, and spending time in prayer at the Chapel of his private quarters. He also stayed connected to the spiritual exercises through video link and alternated between prayer and rest in the afternoon.

Admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14 with bilateral pneumonia, Pope Francis has been under the care of medical staff ever since. In his Angelus address released on Sunday, he expressed gratitude to the healthcare workers for their attentive and caring service during his hospitalization.

This development comes as the 12th anniversary of Pope Francis’ election to succeed Pope Benedict XVI approaches on Thursday.
