Police Raid Results in Closure of Dartmoor Rave, Leading to Five Arrests

According to Ivybridge and Rural Police, a rave on Dartmoor was shut down with the arrest of five individuals. The police were alerted to an “ongoing rave” at Cadover Bridge around 07:00 BST, where approximately 50 people and 35 vehicles were present upon their arrival. The five detainees were apprehended for various offenses including drug driving, drug possession, and possession of a knife. The event organizers cooperated with authorities and promptly cleared the area of equipment and litter after being served with an order to vacate under the Section 63 Criminal Justice & Criminal Order Act 1994.
Ivybridge and Rural Police expressed gratitude to those inconvenienced by the necessary road closure and commended the Duke of Edinburgh award participants who had to make adjustments to their route. They also noted that several vehicles were left behind due to drivers being impaired and assured that all vehicles would be properly retrieved. Additionally, a quantity of illicit drugs was confiscated during the operation.
