Pedro Pascal Drops Teaser About Fantastic Four Role!

Pedro Pascal hints at potential role in the Fantastic Four with a cryptic response
Jimmy Kimmel wanted to know just how flexible Pedro Pascal might be in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. During Pascal’s guest appearance on the March 24 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, Kimmel, 57, pointed out that viewers did not witness Pascal’s character, Reed Richards, showcasing his superpowers in the movie’s initial trailer, revealed on Feb. 4. “I don’t know. You see all the saliva evaporating in my throat — now I’m nervous,” Pascal, 49, replied when Kimmel inquired if a second trailer would unveil Mr. Fantastic’s abilities. The actor then pretended to be surprised when Kimmel cunningly asked whether “all of Mr. Fantastic’s body parts stretch,” or if Pascal had pondered the same question. “[Because] that was my first thought,” Kimmel shared. “Everything needs to stretch,” Pascal chuckled, to the amusement of the talk show host and the live audience. Kimmel even showcased a panel from a previous Fantastic Four comic strip in which Sue Storm, played by Vanessa Kirby in the forthcoming Marvel Studios film, references Mr. Fantastic’s “wonderful set of abilities you acquired from those cosmic rays” while lying in bed. “Meaning he’s a fantastic conversationalist in bed,” Pascal quipped. “I highly doubt that’s what they mean,” Kimmel retorted. Pascal and Kirby, 36, star alongside Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, hitting theaters on July 25. This is the third film adaptation of Marvel Comics’ iconic superhero team; Ioan Gruffud and Miles Teller previously portrayed Mr. Fantastic in earlier iterations. Pascal’s series The Last of Us premieres on HBO on April 13. In addition to Fantastic Four, Pascal will also appear in the romantic drama Materialists in theaters on June 13.
