More than a dozen individuals, including three firefighters, sustained injuries on Saturday following a collision between a passenger train and a Delray Beach Fire Rescue truck, according to officials. The incident took place at approximately 10:45 a.m. close to East Atlantic Avenue and Railroad Avenue in Delray Beach. Delray Beach Fire Rescue stated in a Facebook post that three firefighters were harmed and subsequently transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was responsible for conveying 12 individuals from the train to medical facilities due to minor injuries sustained in the collision. Images shared on social media depict a severely damaged fire truck lying adjacent to the railway tracks. As of now, the exact cause of the collision remains unknown, with authorities initiating an investigation into the matter. The road where the collision transpired has been shut down as a result.
