The Carolina Panthers have listed quarterback Bryce Young as having a hamstring injury on the practice report released on Wednesday. Despite this, Young was reportedly a full participant on the field the day before.
Young, who was the first pick in the 2023 draft, has been averaging 206.3 yards per game and has thrown for 10 touchdowns in his last eight games. The Alabama product was benched after two poor starts at the beginning of the season and did not play in three of the following five games.
During his rookie season last year, Young started 16 out of the Panthers’ 17 games, completing 59.8 percent of his passes for 2,877 yards and 11 touchdowns, along with 10 interceptions.
Although Young has thrown nine interceptions this season, he has only thrown six since returning to the starting role. In the recent game where the Panthers defeated the visiting Arizona team 36-30 in overtime, Young showcased a solid performance by going 17 of 26 passing for 158 yards and two touchdowns without any interceptions.
On another note, running back Chuba Hubbard did not participate in practice on Tuesday due to rest, while the players enjoyed a day off on Christmas.
Looking ahead, the Panthers, with a current record of 4-11, are scheduled to face off against NFC South rival Tampa Bay, who holds a record of 8-7, on Sunday.
