GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was carted into the locker room and quarterback Jordan Love injured his throwing elbow in the second quarter Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The Packers announced that both players were questionable to return.
Watson had previously missed the Packers’ 27-25 loss at Minnesota last week due to an injured left knee. Unfortunately, during the game against the Bears, he appeared to have sustained an injury to his right knee. The nature of this latest injury did not seem to be a result of any direct contact; rather, it occurred as he was running a pattern and went down abruptly as a pass was thrown to his teammate Dontayvion Wicks. Watson was seen clutching his right knee after the incident.
Following the injury, Packers officials went onto the field to assess Watson’s condition. Subsequently, Watson walked over to the sideline and entered the injury tent. As he was being carted into the locker room, Watson was observed holding his left hand to his head.
In addition, during the same quarter, Love was being examined on the sideline while Malik Willis entered the game as his replacement.
Despite the injuries, the Packers had already secured a playoff berth. However, the outcome of Sunday’s game could still impact their playoff seeding. Prior to the game against the Bears, the Packers were positioned as the NFC’s No. 7 seed.
