Olympian Fred Kerley Arrested in Florida After Police Altercation!

Olympic sprinter Fred Kerley was arrested following an altercation with South Florida police that culminated in the two-time medalist being struck with a stun gun, officials confirmed on Friday. The incident unfolded as Kerley, 29, engaged in a conversation with officers regarding his nearby parked vehicle. Miami Beach police revealed that Kerley’s behavior escalated into aggression during the interaction.

According to a statement released by Miami Beach police, Kerley was initially cooperative but his demeanor took a turn for the worse. When instructed to vacate the area, Kerley defied the directive and assumed a combative stance, prompting officers to intervene. Despite their efforts to apprehend Kerley, he purportedly put up resistance, leading to the deployment of a stun gun equipped with dart-firing capabilities.

Kerley was subsequently taken into custody on charges of battery of a police officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer. The sprinter’s arrest comes on the heels of his silver medal win in the 100-meter sprint at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, followed by a bronze medal in the same event during the recent summer competition in Paris.
