Six individuals in Ohio are facing allegations of kidnapping a man and subjecting him to torture for seven days, which included using a metal bat to beat him and denying him food and water, as per court records. The accused individuals are Aaron Bradshaw, 49; Austin Bradshaw, 23; Chance Johnston, 27; David Cessna, 26; Martina Esqueda, 28; and Michael Esqueda, 28, who have been charged with felony kidnapping for causing terror or severe physical harm, according to documents from Toledo Municipal Court obtained by USA TODAY.
The incident reportedly took place at a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, Ohio, beginning on March 14 and continuing until their apprehension on March 21. The victim was subjected to various forms of physical assault, resulting in multiple fractures and injuries. The group allegedly made him stand for prolonged periods, allowed him only one meal and drink a day, and restricted his sleep to only 10 hours throughout the week.
A judge at Toledo Municipal Court has set a bond of $200,000 for each of the accused individuals, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 1. Legal representation has been appointed for all six individuals, and arguments have been made for individual considerations regarding the severity of involvement in the case. The judge maintained the bond amount, citing the nature of the allegations and the need to ensure public safety.
