A 53-year-old man named John Garrison, who was released on parole two months ago after serving nearly two decades in state prison for raping a 13-year-old girl, has been arrested again for allegedly sexually abusing and threatening to kill a 10-year-old girl as part of a disturbing series of sex crimes in Queens, according to police and law enforcement sources.
Garrison allegedly committed at least five heinous acts over the course of three days this week. The incidents included exposing himself in front of a woman in her car, groping and threatening the young girl, masturbating in public, and making lewd comments to other women.
Police officers recognized Garrison from a wanted poster and apprehended him in Richmond Hill after witnessing him engage in lewd behavior. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including public lewdness, sex abuse with a child under 11, endangering the welfare of a child, and forcible touching.
Garrison had previously been arrested six times and served a lengthy sentence for rape before being released on parole in January. He has a history of criminal offenses related to sexual misconduct in Brooklyn and Queens.
