NYC Businessman Busted for Selling $250K in Dangerous Fireworks Officials Warn!

A business owner in Brooklyn was arrested this week after the FDNY discovered a stash of illegal fireworks at a warehouse in Flatbush. The owner of Everbright Trading Co., Lisen Pan, was taken into custody for allegedly running an illegal fireworks operation just days before Independence Day. The confiscated fireworks, valued at approximately $250,000, were labeled with names such as “Morning Glory,” “Tomahawk,” “Roman Candles,” and others.

The FDNY’s investigation was prompted by a tip from another law enforcement agency, leading to the arrest of the business owner on charges of weapons possession, reckless endangerment, and unlawful sale of fireworks. The FDNY Chief Fire Marshal, Daniel Flynn, expressed concerns about the potential fire hazards posed by these illegal fireworks in New York City’s densely populated areas.

Over 1,000 boxes of fireworks were seized and transported by an FDNY hazmat unit truck to be destroyed at the NYPD firing range in Rodman’s Neck, Bronx. Commissioner Tucker emphasized the dangers of fireworks and condemned their presence in the hands of the public. The collaborative effort between the FDNY and the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office successfully removed a significant quantity of hazardous fireworks from circulation. Actions that put the public at risk will not be tolerated, Tucker added.
