Nurse’s Shocking Admission Sparks Investigation

Officials in Melbourne, Australia, are reviewing patient records following an online claim by a nurse that she had harmed Israelis. However, no evidence of harm has been found, authorities stated on Wednesday. This claim is part of a disturbing trend of antisemitic attacks and rhetoric that have been taking place in Australia, causing damage to properties and targeting Jewish establishments.

A police task force has been set up in Sydney to investigate antisemitic crimes that have occurred since the Israel-Hamas conflict in 2023. The task force is now looking into potential offenses related to the online video, including possible breaches of hate speech laws, according to New South Wales state Health Minister Ryan Park.

In response to the incident, two nurses involved in an online discussion with an Israeli influencer during a night shift at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney have been suspended. Park condemned their actions, calling them “vile, disgusting, and deranged individuals” and stated that they will not be employed by the state health department again.

Alex Ryvchin, a Jewish leader, raised concerns about the growing extremism among medical professionals towards the Jewish community in Sydney. He noted that this incident was not isolated and warned that there might be more to uncover.

Authorities acted swiftly after the video surfaced online, but attempts to contact the nurses directly were unsuccessful. The influencer, Max Veifer, known for exposing antisemitism through his videos, has not yet commented on the incident.

The investigation at Bankstown Hospital revealed no evidence of harm to Jewish patients, reassuring the community of the quality of care provided. Minister Park reassured the Jewish community that they would continue to receive top-notch care and that the hospital’s history would also be examined.
