Nuisance Vehicles Vanish from Roadsides in Bold Move by Council!

Bradford Council has removed over 40 untaxed vehicles from the streets recently. The council described these cars as a “blight on communities” and a “nuisance.” Under powers granted to local authorities in 2023, the council has taken action to clear these vehicles from roadsides. A total of 42 vehicles have been confiscated, with 14 being seized during a special operation in Keighley. Other vehicles were also removed from various areas including Great Horton, Little Horton, Thornton, Allerton, Queensbury, and Bowling and Barkerend. The council stated that owners can reclaim their vehicles by proving that they have paid the necessary taxes or by arranging for storage on private property. Any unclaimed vehicles may be crushed. Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw praised the efforts of officers, West Yorkshire Police, and local ward councillors for their work in removing these abandoned vehicles, which have been causing problems in local communities.
