As we begin the second full week of April, residents in the Great Lakes region and mid-Atlantic states are eagerly awaiting the return of nicer weather. The unpredictable spring weather, with its mix of winter chills and occasional pleasant days, has left some feeling disappointed. AccuWeather experts predict that while parts of the Northeast will briefly enjoy milder conditions, another cold wave is on the horizon.
At the start of the week, temperatures will rise across portions of the Ohio Valley and Northeast, reaching the 60s and even 70s in some areas. Following a cool and dreary week, people in the Northeast will be delighted by the sunny and warmer weather ahead. However, showers and thunderstorms are expected later in the week, some of which may be severe, especially in areas from southern Indiana to West Virginia.
Despite the brief period of warmth, another cold front will move through by midweek, bringing temperatures back below average. Daytime highs in the 40s and 50s are anticipated as the front passes through the region. While temperatures will gradually rise later in the week, a separate storm may bring wet conditions for some, potentially impacting the Easter holiday.
Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and be prepared for changing conditions throughout the week.
