Defending his outreach to voices across the political spectrum, Newsom underscored the importance of engaging in conversations with differing viewpoints. He acknowledged the need to address fairness and equality issues, including those affecting the LGBTQ+ community, while also acknowledging the Democratic Party’s tendency to talk down to people rather than engaging constructively.
