Key Points
Taco Bell has launched fresh Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders following a successful trial in 2024.
These mini Crunchwrap Sliders are now up for grabs at Taco Bell for a limited time.
While the saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” might hold true for some, Taco Bell keeps innovating its fast food fare. Despite already having a stellar menu, the chain continues to introduce exciting new items.
Thankfully, Taco Bell recognizes its customers’ desire for novelty, regularly testing innovative dishes in different regions. And if we’re lucky, these test items may eventually become available nationwide, just like the revamped Crunchwrap Supreme.
Taco Bell Introduces Fresh Crunchwrap Sliders
In 2024, Taco Bell trialed the Crunchwrap Sliders in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio for a brief period. These “fun-sized” sliders offered a snackable twist on the beloved Crunchwrap Supreme, available in various flavors during the trial.
Today, Taco Bell is rolling out the Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders nationwide, featuring grilled steak, chipotle sauce, pico de gallo, Cheddar cheese, and a mini tostada, all wrapped in a flour tortilla, griddled, and served with warm Green Chile Queso sauce.
These new sliders differ from Taco Bell’s previous Crunchwrap Sliders, especially in price. Unlike the $1 tag in 2014, each order now includes two sliders at $4.99—a pricing akin to the recently launched Cheesy Dipping Burritos.
During the 2014 trial, Taco Bell offered Beefy Cheddar, Spicy Chicken, and BLT Crunchwrap Sliders, all incorporating Fritos chips instead of a tostada. The Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders have now made their way to all Taco Bell locations after their successful test in Ohio.
Our Review
During the market test, it was evident that different Taco Bell outlets offered varying versions of the Crunchwrap Sliders. The Taco Bell we visited had the Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders and a custom vegetarian option with black beans, while today’s options include chicken, slow-roasted chicken, or potatoes as alternatives.
Our Allrecipes editor, Courtney Kassel, sampled both the steak and bean versions, dubbing them “pocket-sized delights” packed with all the classic Crunchwrap fillings.
While the portable Crunchwrap Sliders are ideal for a quick snack or sharing, Kassel expressed a desire for the OG Crunchwrap in slider form with ground beef, emphasizing the need for more diverse options.
With the steak-filled Crunchwrap Slider leading the way, we hope to see more shareable, snackable menu additions in the future. After all, who wouldn’t want a side of Crunchwrap Supremes to complement their meal?
