Naomi Osaka made an impressive comeback after 517 days. The Japanese tennis player managed to win her first WTA Tour match.
Osaka appeared at the Brisbane International tennis tournament. The famous athlete defeated German Tamara Korpatsch in the first round with sets of 6-3 7-6.
Naomi Osaka, who has four Grand Slam titles, told the crowd who loved her at the Pat Rafter Arena, "It's really good to be back."
"To be honest, I'm very proud of myself, I think I played at a pretty good level," Osaka said after the match.
The former world No. 1 has been away from the courts since the birth of her daughter Shai in July 2023.
