Shakira took to her Instagram and X accounts on Sunday afternoon to share a statement, revealing her current hospitalization and the doctor’s advice against performing in her condition. Expressing her disappointment, she expressed her deep emotions and excitement about reconnecting with her cherished Peruvian audience.
Arriving in Peru on Friday evening, Shakira had been gearing up for back-to-back performances on Sunday and Monday. This leg of her tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, marks the second stop in Latin America following successful shows in Brazil the previous week. The warm reception from Latin fans was evident as crowds gathered at airports to welcome the singing sensation. In gratitude, she posted on Instagram, “Thank you for such an emotional welcome, Lima!”
Despite the setback, Shakira remains hopeful for a speedy recovery and is eager to make up for the canceled show. She conveyed her intentions to reschedule the performance at the earliest opportunity, with her team and the concert promoter already working on a new date. The tour, in support of her latest album of the same name, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, sees Shakira transforming her personal struggles, particularly her highly publicized divorce, into music.
